The Brassey of Canberra
LOCATION The Brassey of Canberra is a boutique heritage hotel (est 1927) located on the fringe of the parliamentary triangle in the quiet, central suburb of Barton. The hotel is within walking distance to many of Canberra’s tourist attractions including; both house of Parliament, The National gallery of Australia, The National Library and Kingston and Manuka shopping villages.
VENUE Nestled amongst 2½ acres of lawns & gardens on the fringe of the parliamentary triangle, for a wedding reception filled with the warmth & splendour of the 1920s. The Brassey of Canberra, rich with the tradition & elegance of a bygone era, boasts facilities & services to cater for the modern wedding.
The Belmore Restaurant, one of Canberra’s original wedding reception venues, retains a charm in keeping with this heritage. Overlooking a manicured garden, the Belmore Restaurant can accommodate up to 90 guests.
The Barton Ballroom is a fully self-contained function facility with an adjoining courtyard and garden area. This purpose-built room, tastefully furnished to bring alive the extravagant atmosphere of the 1920s, has a capacity of up to 140 guests.
The surrounding grounds are available for civil ceremonies.
HIGHLIGHTS The picturesque garden Courtyard is ideally suited for wedding photography and pre-dinner drinks and canapés. With only 75 guest rooms The Brassey is a very small and intimate hotel.
